Hyperpigmentation

Uneven accumulation of skin pigments (often known as hyperpigmentation) is a common skin condition. Dark spots – known as age spots or sun spots – usually appear on the face, hands or other parts of the body that are constantly exposed to sunlight. The main sign of hyperpigmentation is darkening of some areas of the skin. Spots can be very large and can occur in any area of the skin.

It is a harmless skin condition that you can get rid of it with cosmetic treatments, creams and home remedies. If you notice other symptoms besides this disease, you must see a doctor. If you want to get rid of this condition for cosmetic reasons, our doctors at CBAM clinic can recommend the best available treatment methods.

Hyperpigmentation is caused by an increase in skin melanin. Melanin is a natural pigment that colors our skin, hair and eyes. A number of factors can increase melanin production, however, exposure to pleasant light, hormonal effects, aging, and skin injuries or inflammation are the main causes.
